SKAALA WINDOW TYPE BEETA ACHIEVES SOUND REDUCTIONS UP TO RW52DB
There are two ways to achieve high sound reduction in windows: thick glass and a large air gap between the glass panes.
Windows constructed with a 2+1 configuration, where the outer and inner frames are separated, therefore provide better sound reduction than a configuration with equivalent glazing in a 3-glass cassette.
Greater frame depth results in greater sound reduction – it’s that simple!
Our Beeta window type with parallel-hung sashes can be manufactured with different frame depths: 131 mm, 175 mm, and 210 mm.
The cost of the windows becomes lower, as we do not need to use thick glass or sound laminates in most cases. By combining sound laminated glass with our deep 210 mm frames, we achieve a sound reduction of 52 decibels (RW).
The parallel-hung sashes, where the outer and inner frames are hung on their own hinge sets, also allow for a sleek frame and sash design with only a 79 mm distance from the frame edge to the glass, providing an unusually large amount of natural light.
